What I have appreciated most throughout this program is the knowledge gained is not only beneficial to my future endeavors in higher education, but is also applicable to my current role as an English Lecturer.
Born in Baton Rouge, LSU has always been a part of me; however, having to wait to join the Tiger family gave me a greater understanding regarding the factors involved in college choice and access.

Loss of classroom time and social interactions paired with the stress of the pandemic have created an increase in anxiety and depression in college students. The pandemic has been challenging for students and faculty, and the results will likely impact future generations in multiple ways.
Communication is one of the most essential skills a person needs to be successful in any profession. More students are entering college without the basic knowledge of grammar and sentence structure and need these crucial gaps filled before they are ready for college curriculum.
Veterans face unique challenges both in and out of the classroom, but these challenges often begin before even being able to register for classes. Benefits they have earned are sometimes left unused due the many issues faced concerning the understanding and application of benefits like the G. I. Bill.
Understanding the use of assessment practices and implications is an asset to those in Higher Education. This overview of an assessment performed by Virginia Tech highlights strengths and weakness of surveys and offers further reccomendations for similiar assessments.
Parental support can be one of the most important factors in a student's success; however, it is also crucial for students to develope autonomy and move to self-authorship during this time in their lives.
